Dave Martin is fast becoming a name to be reckoned with within the UK and increasingly across abroad. Founder and resident of the Technique club in Leeds - UK, label manager of Immigrant Music, touring DJ and producer he’s certainly no slouch when it comes to a bit of hard work!

As the resident and founder of the mighty Technique club in Leeds UK, Dave has had an enviable platform from which to get clubbers from all over Europe shaking their stuff since the clubs inception in 2001.

In 2007 Technique reached the ripe old age of 6, no mean feat for a club that was started with no money by a bunch of students! Over it’s lifetime Technique has grown to become a household name for anybody with so much as a hint of interest in the US and European house and techno scene. The club has also provided Dave with the experience and confidence to grow as a touring DJ. Playing alongside, and earning the respect of the likes of Richie Hawtin, Matthew Herbert, Craig Richards, Magda, Luciano, John Tejada, Ricardo Villalobos, Derrick May, Carl Craig, Steve Bug, Mathew Jonson and Michael Mayer (to name just a few).

In 2005 Dave became part of the furniture for the awesome Immigrant Records team, taking on the role of label manager and working alongside owner Robin Porter working with the likes of John Tejada, Alexi Delano, Jens Bond, Anja Schneider, Jay Haze (Fuckpony) and a host of new talent planned for the future, watch this space for big things from Immigrant!

Dave’s profile has grown further still, playing at all of the UK’s clubs that are championing the house and techno scene in all of the major cities. He made his Fabric debut, a real personal highlight, as well as gracing the decks of such renowned establishments as Stealth in Nottingham and Tribal Sessions (Sankey Soaps) in Manchester as well as at regular Immigrant events at T Bar (London). However his infectious beats are not only limited to the UK; Dave has also made his movements into Europe with appearances in Spain, Norway and Slovenia as well as recent tours in the USA.

Well it was only a matter of time given the course of things before Dave started to release music and alongside production partner and label partner, Robin Porter the pair have already begun the slow release of remixes and tracks they have completed under their ‘Hand on Throat’ guise.

So what’s next? Well Dave’s schedule doesn’t seem to be letting up, there’s big plans afoot for Immigrant of course, and Dave will be diving even deeper into his role there. He’ll be making returns to all of his favorite haunts and adding a host of new events to his schedule - with Technique events and a number of festivals planned as well as further tours in Europe and south America as guest appearances at anywhere else you can care to imagine! Dave will also be spending a lot more time in the studio…watch this space!
